Uganda Meets West Michigan
In an attempt to create awareness and possibly some fund-raising for temporary classrooms for God Cares Primary School at Kasensero Landing Site in southern Uganda, a small group at Friendship Chapel (Jenison) got creative. After reading the book, The Hole in Our Gospel, they decided they wanted to come along side this SFM-sponsored school to help in whatever way they could.
One idea they came up with was to build a model of the type of classroom the students of God Cares are currently occupying. As the project began to materialize, Jeff Stam, who is a member at Friendship and SFM’s International Director, realized that the model classroom would also be a great educational tool for the children in western Michigan area schools that have established sister-school relationships with SFM schools in East Africa.
The classroom was set up at each of four local schools for about one week during October. At some of the schools, the kids actually had a class in the model classroom and received cards that identified them with some issues African school children deal with—they may be an orphan or have AIDS or older, but this is there first chance they’ve had to go to a school…

Because the room cannot handle any accumulated snowfall, it will be taken apart and made available again next spring. If your church or school would be interested in having the classroom placed on location in the spring, contact SFM.
Indian Inmates Meet the Lord!
Praise the Lord for the new life found inside the jails of Aizwal, India! SFM volunteers led a worship service, followed by a "call to be followers of Jesus" and then offered Baptism to any and all who were interested in being cleansed of their sin, and completely washed and made new in Christ. Twenty-nine men and women were baptised and 190 people responded with enthusiasm to give their life to Christ! How great it is to hear of God's work being done all over this world, even as so many news reports are full of negative messages and chaos overseas. Our GOD REIGNS!
